I haven't had the chance to eat a lot of different kinds of Indian food, but I love tikka masala. I also haven't mustered up the courage to try making it on my own, but I wanted something different for a quick dinner last night and saw Patak's Tikka Masala Curry Simmer Sauce advertised on Food Network. I picked it up at the store to give it a shot.
It was super easy. I bought 1 lb. of chicken tenders at the meat counter and a package of Uncle Ben's Basmati Ready Rice. I cut up the chicken tenders into bite-sized pieces and browned them for about 5 minutes in a skillet. Then I poured the simmer sauce over the chicken and simmered away - about 15 minutes. Then all I had to do was heat the rice in the microwave - 90 seconds - pour the chicken and sauce over the rice and dinner was served!
Verdict: Yummy! Not quite as good as you would get at an Indian restaurant, but totally worth the minimal prep and cook time. I'll definitely make it again!
