I love Valentine's Day. Sometimes I think this world is full of greed, evil and sadness and a day to celebrate love is a good thing. So of course I made Valentine treats for everyone at work!
Mom and Dad came to hang out on Saturday, so mom and I baked and dad went to the music store.
Happy Valentine's Day! These are basically cake pops minus the stick, but when you put them in a little box, they look like Valentine's Day chocolates. I call them cake truffles!
The fabulous Christina Kahler scored some free tickets to see Mary Poppins on Saturday night! Super excited to go, but little Kendall got sick at the last minute, and Christina had to stay home. I got Dan to go, and it was a fun show. It was almost 2.5 hours long, though, so I don't think I would have taken kids to see it. We had the best seats...7th row, center...and had a fun time. Hooray for free tickets!
I'm using Mary Poppins as a way to cross of #23 on my list: see a really good concert or live theatre production. I think since Dan and I are going to see James Taylor on March 1 and then Christina and I are seeing LADY GAGA!!!! on March 17 that I can safely say #23 is and will continue to be accomplished.
I FINALLY finished The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. The story was good, but I couldn't get past the bad writing. On to the next read: Winter Garden by Kristen Hannah (for book club).
I hope everyone takes a minute to tell your friends and loved ones that you love them today!
